What a Ride!

The table below show the suggested times that are recommended that you leave the High School at to get the most out of each of your rest stops.

160 km (100 Mile) 7:00am - 8:00am
120 km (75 Mile) 7:00am - 9:00am
80 km (50 Mile) 8:00am - 10:00am
40 km (25 Mile) 8:00am - 10:00 am
15 km (10 Mile) 8:00am - 10:00am

 

Every rider that registers will receive a rider packet when they check in at the High school.

PACKET PICKUP:  Rider packets are available for pick up at the High School the day before the ride, June 25 from 3:00 – 6:00p.m. and the morning of the ride, June 26 from 7:00 – 10:00a.m.
The rider packet includes the following:

ROUTE MAP: A ride map outlining all and rest stop opening/closing times are also listed. Be sure to check the changes that have been made due to construction. Click here to view the 2010 route map.

REST STOP FOOD MENU:  This menu outlines every food being served at each of the rest stops along the route.

IDENTIFICATION BRACELET: Each rider will have an ID bracelet. You must have your bracelet fastened on your wrist to be served at rest stops or to be serviced
by SAG vehicles. The route that you register for is indicated on your bracelet for service at those locations that you visit. Your bracelet will also help identify you in case of emergency.

RULES OF THE ROAD: This sheet reviews the proper rules of riding single file with traffic, how to cross railroad tracks safely, and the correct use of hand
signals to indicate right, left, and stop.

T-SHIRT: If you signed up for a T-shirt, your packet should include a colored 2011 BAMC Menominee River Century T-shirt.

THE RIDER SURVEY: Your thoughts are important to us. Almost all past improvements have been driven by input from riders. Please fill out the survey and drop it in the box at Marinette High School and you will be entered in a drawing for a free entry in next year’s ride. A copy of the survey can also be printed from our
Website.

SAGS/REPAIRS:
During the ride, vehicles will patrol the course and stop to repair bikes when needed. Also SAGs have cellular phones and can be called by any rest stop. Vehicles are marked with an orange flashing light or signs.

MUSIC: A live band will perform from 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Tyco Rest Stop at the Peshtigo Town Hall. Music will also be played at the post-ride party at the High School from 11:30 to 4:30pm.

LOCKER ROOMS: Locker rooms are available at the High School for rider to shower after their ride. You will need to bring personal shower supplies. No towels are provided.

POST-RIDE PARTY: Relax and enjoy ice cream, watermelon and many other delicious foods after you complete your ride. “Free will” donations will be accepted under the tent.

Before you arrive:
Attention MRC Riders, Please remember that our SAG service is meant for emergencies. With the addition of a 100 mile route this year, we will need to get our SAG team on the routes earlier. So, make sure to get your bikes tuned up before you arrive. Our two local bike shops: Cycle Path in Menominee www.cyclepath360.com and Marinette Cycle Center in Marinette www.marinettecycle.com are happy to help with an problems at their store the Friday or Saturday before the ride.
